May 2012 GlymmBox Overview and Review

Soooo, it looks like Glymm is re-branding.  The outer box is white, the cards and stickers have a different look.  Gone is the glossy pink box with ribbon and pink everywhere; arriving is a bright pink bag with black cards and sealing stickers.  Even the font appears different.  I personally like the change as it looks a bit more sophisticated, but the previous glossy pink was very distinctive.

This does explain the nylon promotion (keeping people guessing).  The initiative appears to be in the interest of being more eco-friendly and (I would suspect) less expensive to ship.

CK ONE Shock for Her

I used to wear CK One and this perfume is much different to me.  Distinct floral notes.  Not overpowering and lovely.  Has a spritz instead of a dab for a top.

CK ONE Shock for Him

CK Shock for him is actually really nice.  I am not sure how to classify the smell just to say yummy.   One spray is subtle but is definitely for males.

COOLA Mineral Matte Cucumber Face Suncreen

I love getting things from companies I have never heard of!  There, I said it.  I am embarrassed to say that I never wear a separate sunscreen and always rely on my moisturizer for the sunscreen (mostly SPF15).  This one is SPF30.  I do like to try something for a couple of weeks which is why I would have liked 2 of these.  My skin takes that long to react to anything new.  But being paraben free and a primer is attractive.

Rating: Meh bordering on Hooray

NU.ME HydroPunch Hydrating Conditioner

I received a feather hair accessory in a previous Glymm Box...  Meh.  I also received a $100 coupon which I haven't used.  So, what about conditioner?  It claims that it turns dull and damaged hair into vibrant, healthy strands.  There is a fragrance but not overpowering.  It has  Sage extract, Bamboo extract, Argan Oil among other things.  I do like to try the shampoo and conditioner as a pair, but I won't quibble too much.

Rating:  Hooray

CARGO Duo Eye Shadow in Vienna

I have another Cargo eye shadow duo which I love.  I am extremely excited to receive this item.   A delicate pink and a storm grey with some shimmer in it.  I did go to the Cargo website and this one was not listed, In fact they are for sale for $6 CDN (weird...)

Price:  Full size is 3g @ $25.  Size received was Full Size!  Use up to 36 months.

CAUDALIE Vinexpert Anti-Ageing Serum

Again, a brand that I have never used but at 39 I am certainly interested in serums.  No discernible scent and the texture is very fluid and light.

Price:  Full size is 15ml @ $33.  Sample size is 7ml.  Up to 40 uses.

CAUDALIE Vinosource Serum and Sorbet

Two really cute packets containing a "Thirst quenching" serum and a Moisturizing "Sorbet".  I love how companies use catch phrases and words of the moment to market products.  Essentially it's a hydrating serum and a moisturizer.  'Nuff said.  I'll try it though as I love trying this stuff.  Size is pretty teeny though (3 uses?  On  a child's face perhaps).

Rating:  Giggle (Meh)

Sorbet Price: Full size is 40ml @ $38.  Sample size is 1ml.  Up to 3 uses.

I was pleasantly surprised by this month's offering, I hope this is a sign that Glymm has refocused their attention to providing great sample as the past couple of months they were bit...  uneven.
