What I am loving right now (non-cosmetic related)

I always like reading reviews. From Trip Advisor to Urbanspoon, I read and write reviews in the faith of what it was intended, to have a honest, personal account of places. I became active in ore, sporadic in another.

Then along came Yelp and I enjoyed the diversity of the places and reviews from people in my own community; People of varying tastes, writing styles and interests. Maybe you don't eat out but clothes shop like crazy! Maybe you know of a leather shop in town that custom makes belts - it doesn't matter, just review it!


I am now yelping - adding my review that reflects my personality and tastes. Maybe people will find it informative, some maybe even amusing. Doesn't matter, I am enjoying it!

TopBox and Luxebox

I will admit it... I am a makeup/skincare whore (oops)!  I can't get enough of it and my poor husband is being slowly squeezed out of the bedroom to make way for my obsession.

That said, I have been reading about the monthly sample boxes that are offered as a subscription service.  And I decided that I am going to try it out.  I ordered the TopBox but unfortunately the first one I can get is February 2012.  I ordered Luxebox for December!!!


Check back with detailed reviews and we'll see!  Could be a love match!

Twitter so far...

I avoided Twitter for so long, just another source of noise. But I dipped my toe in there last week. While the occassional tweet is interesting, funny or informative (some are all), many people use Twitter as either a virtual soapbox, a pseudo conversation, a play by play of their life. I quickly stopped following some people, it became too much- like junk mail.

Is that wrong? Am I being unreasonable?

Ever have a day....

When you look in your closet and hate everything?  Nothing coordinates, or fits, or it's something you have worn a million times!!!  That was me at 8:15am....  These clothes were perfectly fine last week, or yesterday for that matter but today blech.

3 skirt switches, and 2 top switches and then my hand reaches for a bag waaaaaay in the back of my closet.  I reach in and find 3 scarves I had forgotten I purchased.

A Pashmina from Florence (from 2009) and 2 scarves from Hanoi (also from 2009).   Hooray! And a little ridiculous!!!

Style challenge resolved.  Am I completely content?  No, but I am less irritated by my fashion breakdown!

What topics are interesting to me and to others?

Is my commentary unique in any way?

So I thought I would start with talking about makeup... It's something I enjoy.  And honestly, it really is all about me...
